Paul Bunton is the Chief of Police in Saline, Mi. He became Chief of Police when he arrived in Saline from the Ann Arbor Police Department. I have known Paul and been involved with him through the Saline Chamber of Commerce and Saline Schools.

Last Saturday, during the Michigan Spring football game held at Saline High School, I shot, (no pun intended) a video of him speaking about the safety of Saline, Mi.

U of M “Maize vs Blue” Game April 12, 2008

8 Comments | Leave A Comment

Spring Game Saline a playToday was the much anticipated Spring game where the University of Michigan Wolverines gave us a glimpse of the new “spread offense”. There was a lot of excitement in the air to see new head coach, Rich Rodriguez and the unfolding of the offense.

The game was held at Saline High School, where all my children have attended or graduated from. Saline has a top notch football stadium and it was fun to see the Wolverines on the field.

It was so cold……………….and windy, worse than most of our fall games.

It was exciting to see Michigan go into a no huddle offense and take most of the snaps from the shot gun.

Included is an audio of Rich Rodriguez summary on the game today, posted my Jim Carty of the Ann Arbor News.

Spring Game 002We were invited inside the stadium because the Missy Caulk TEAM with Maria Labie our preferred lender from Citizens First Bank were the exclusive sponsors for the Maize and Blue game. Due to it being in a smaller stadium the “The Big House”, it was not open to the public.

My daughter, Christa and Buyer Agent on our team was in the press box and did a quick interview with Sam and Andy on WTKA, Sports Radio in Ann Arbor.

Here is some footage I shot with my new flip video.

Remember it’s C A U L K….like around the bathtub and windows.

GO BLUE !

Washtenaw County 1st Quarter Market Reports

1 Comment | Leave A Comment

Let’s see if I dig really hard I can find some good news! Ok, the amount of homes and condos being listed is down, 42%.

That is good news and mostly attributed to Pfizer homes for the most part being gone.

The average sale price in March for Washtenaw County is down to $205,400. That is just unbelievable.

Rather than interpret the data here are the charts for your review. All data is from the Ann Arbor Board of Realtors, where I serve as a Director and compiled by Big House Data in Ann Arbor.

Hunters Ridge Subdivision in Saline, Michigan

I’ve been helping my past clients and neighbors fight their tax assessments for the last month throughout ALL Washtenaw County.  I was so encouraged when I received this email from one of my clients:

Hi Missy & Betty–  ( Betty is my assistant)

I wanted to thank you both again for the all the help and information you provided regarding our property tax appeal. Steve & I made an appointment and went before the township board armed with the comps you pulled and a letter requesting that our taxable and assessed value be reduced to what we paid (50% of $425K). We were being assessed/taxed on 50% of $549K. I am happy to report that WE WON!! Quite a savings in future taxes!

Thanks again,

XXXXX

This client lives in York Township.

I live in Hunters Ridge Subdivision in Saline, MI  and have for 15 years. One of my neighbors Chris asked me to collect the data for him in Hunters Ridge and I was glad to do so. First, we live in a neighborhood in Saline Schools, Pittsfield Township Taxes. We rarely have much turnover, which is why their is not much data. Seems like the same few homes sell over and over again as you will see in the graph.

Hunters Ridge Subdivision Recent History Property Sales

When we refinanced in 2001, the appraisal for my home was 449,900. This December we refinanced again and it was 380,000.

See we are all in this together. When you received your property assessments did you SEV go down but your taxes go up? Yes, mine did.

Well we Sprung Forward now what?

3 Comments | Leave A Comment

Well, we sprung forward in Ann Arbor and Saline, but where is Spring? I don’t know about you but I am ready for summer. Time to see the flowers pop out of the ground.

Did you know you can buy organic flowers to grow in your garden?

According to an Article from Environmental News Network, the flower industry is one of the heaviest users of agricultural chemicals and 60% of the flowers sold in the U.S. are imported from countries whose environmental standards are more lax than ours.

Roses for example can contain up to 50 times the amount of pesticides that are legally allowed in on the food we eat.

I love beautiful flowers in my home, throughout the year, but lately I’ve been pondering about the environmental issues and the workers that are being exposed to those chemicals every day.

Project Grow is a non-profit group in Ann Arbor, that will loan you space and give you the knowledge to grow organically. Here is the link to their calendar for the season where you can take classes. Project grow has been in Ann Arbor since 1972. You can apply on line to reserve your plot of land here. Since Project Grow is a volunteer group they are also looking for volunteers.

I also found this really cool place in California where you can purchase organic flowers and learn about organic gardening, called California Organic flowers. They may cost a tad more but the colors are brilliant and we are doing our part to save the environment.

Here is video that is all about growing organically and about the California Organic Farm.

Ready to join me in wishing for a soon to come Spring and Summer?…thought so
